Is Assisted right for me, or do I need Autonomous?

Choose Assisted if you want help drafting replies and intend to remain the person who sends them. Consider Autonomous if routine messages need to go out without that manual step and you have a supported, tested connection. The decision is about how work is approved, not just the size of a monthly price. Start with the guest situations you are comfortable delegating.

What Assisted actually does

Assisted accepts forwarded guest messages at your inbound address and prepares replies as private notes. Nothing is automatically sent. You review the draft, check that it fits the guest’s question and send the message yourself. This gives you a clear approval point when instructions change or a request calls for judgment. It also means someone must keep up with the inbox.

The onboarding price is $19 per month, including three properties and 500 drafts. Additional properties are a $5 monthly add-on. Drafts are not billed as overage: there is a notice at 500 and drafting pauses at 1,000, leaving messages for you to handle. If you cannot reliably review and send messages, the lower subscription price does not solve that coverage problem.

What changes with Autonomous

Autonomous-BYO connects your own Hospitable account through OAuth. You retain the Hospitable relationship and its separate bill. Autonomous-managed places that account with CoHostBnB. Both onboarding offers support two-way auto-send through Hospitable. Before turning on automation, test ordinary questions and exceptions, and verify which account owns the conversation and how the workflow stops when information is missing.

BYO is billed as max($39, $12 per property, 14% of booking revenue). Managed is max($79, $29 per property, 14% of booking revenue), with the property floor re-derived monthly from the Hospitable invoice. These are the onboarding formulas checked October 26, 2026. A revenue share can dominate the base price, so use your actual revenue in the calculator rather than comparing only $19, $39 and $79.

Do you need automation or a co-host?

Automatic messaging does not repair a lock, inspect a turnover or authorize a refund. If those are the gaps, define a managed-service scope and the local response arrangements. CoHostBnB is a founder-led hospitality team; managed service includes human intervention during business hours and emergency escalation alongside AI replies. Confirm responsibilities for nights, on-site work and owner approvals in the agreement.

The Assisted software plan is different from state-dependent Co-Host Assist. Managed availability uses GREEN for qualifying percentage-based service, YELLOW for fixed-fee administrative assistance with host publishing, and RED for software only. Unknown addresses require verification. Do not interpret a working PMS connection as permission to buy managed service in every location.

Try a decision exercise

Take several recent guest questions and mark which you would send after a quick review, which need extra facts and which require an owner decision. Assisted fits a workflow where you want to keep that review step. Autonomous is worth evaluating when repeatable questions dominate and the escalation path has been tested. Keep a named person responsible for exceptions in either case.

Next, read the account-ownership comparison and automation paths. Check the current onboarding disclosure before subscribing. A deliberate approval workflow is more useful than buying autonomy before the property instructions and backup contacts are ready.
