Best software for hostels and small hotels (2026)
Start with how you sell inventory: an entire property, individual rooms, or beds in shared rooms. The best software is the one that can demonstrate your actual booking and turnover workflow.
Evaluate the system of record first
For a hostel, ask vendors to demonstrate bed allocation, room moves and shared-room availability. For a small hotel, test room types, a front-desk handover, housekeeping status and a cancellation. Verify channel connections, payment handling, reporting and local tax requirements in a trial rather than assuming they are included.
Where CoHostBnB fits
CoHostBnB presents guest communication, housekeeping and handover workflows. Treat it as an operations candidate and confirm its fit with your reservation system. Do not assume it replaces a hotel PMS, supports bed-level inventory, or includes every channel integration.
Read the existing Guesty, Hostaway and Hospitable comparisons when evaluating short-term-rental operations. Those comparisons do not establish hostel or hotel PMS suitability.
Make the trial measurable
Run a booking change, a late arrival and a missed cleaning handover with test data. Record who receives each alert and what the owner still does manually. Obtain a written quote covering setup, integrations and support. This is a requirements checklist, not an independently tested vendor ranking.
