Small hotel housekeeping software: what to test
Choose a workflow that makes room readiness visible to both housekeeping and the person checking guests in.
Define room states
Agree what dirty, cleaning, inspected and ready mean for your team. Decide who can release a room after inspection and how an out-of-service room is handled.
Try the busy-day scenario
Demonstrate early arrivals, late departures and a cleaner absence on the same day. Staff should see the priority changes and know which person can approve an exception.
Keep defects separate
Record a broken lock or missing item as a maintenance issue with an accountable responder. Marking a clean complete should not silently clear a defect that prevents guest use.
Check daily usability
Test the staff view on the devices used on site. Confirm what works during a connection problem and how updates are reconciled. Verify current integration support with the vendor before relying on automatic reservation updates.
